Disasters can be man-made or through natural phenomena. Man-made disasters are from human blunders such as industrial explosions or structural failures. Natural disasters include earthquakes and droughts, floods, landslides, cyclones, Tsunami etc.

The 2004 Tsunami was the most devastating natural disaster that hit this Pearl Island since the last century. It took thousands of lives, valuable properties and even degraded the eco system.

If the country had an early warning system in place with proper awareness to the general public, who lives in the disaster-prone areas, the devastated damage caused to the people & property would have been saved in a larger scale.

In year 2008, Inova Engineering has been chosen by the European turn-key solution provider along with world leading warning solutions provider, “American Signal corporation” USA to implement the country’s landmark disaster warning system across the coastal line.
